What Is Required for Safe Contractor Approval?
Alcumus does not issue Safe Contractor approval automatically. Before renewing our certificate, its assessment team reviews the documents and evidence we provide.
Approval is only granted once Alcumus is fully satisfied that our business meets the required standards.
As part of the assessment process, we must provide evidence including:
- Valid public liability insurance
- Documents outlining our health and safety procedures
- Safe working practices for carrying out cleaning on customers’ premises
- Knowledge of cleaning solutions and chemicals
- An understanding of how different products should be handled, stored and used
- Procedures for selecting the correct solution for each cleaning requirement
Safe Use of Cleaning Solutions and Chemicals
Different carpets, upholstery fabrics, floors and surfaces require different cleaning methods and products.
Using an unsuitable cleaning solution can damage a surface, affect its colour or create unnecessary safety risks. Our Safe Contractor assessment helps demonstrate that we have a full understanding of how to use professional cleaning solutions and chemicals safely.
We understand how to select and use the correct products for a wide range of cleaning requirements while protecting customers, residents, visitors and the property itself.
Why Safe Contractor Approval Is Important
Some residential developments where we clean communal areas insist that contractors are approved members of Alcumus Safe Contractor before they are permitted to work on the premises.
This gives property managers, residents and customers reassurance that the company carrying out the work has been independently assessed and can provide the required health and safety documentation.
Our renewed approval demonstrates that TS Clean Care is:
- Properly insured
- Committed to safe working practices
- Knowledgeable about professional cleaning chemicals
- Able to follow documented health and safety procedures
- Independently assessed by Alcumus
- Trusted to work in communal and customer premises
